Biography

A “Lifetime Banker” started his banking career in Allentown, Pennsylvania where he reached management level in his early twenties. He was recruited and moved to California by Security Pacific Bank.  His performance and career blossomed at Security Bank with rapid advancement at both Security Pacific National Bank and Security Pacific State Bank.  At Security Pacific National Bank, he served as Senior Vice President and Global Administrator of the Government Institution Division, the Financial Institution Division and the Technology Services Group.  Concurrently, he served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Security Pacific State Bank.  Mr. Koury organized and maintained eleven non-bank subsidiaries with new business opportunities in: Leasing, Real Estate Brokerage, Real Estate Development, Data Processing, Investment Brokerage and Insurance.

Subsequent to the merger of Security Bank with Bank of America, Mr. Koury moved to independent banking business, as a major shareholder, Chairman of the Board, President and CEO of Cerritos Valley Bank.  After the sale of Cerritos Valley Bank, he joined the Board of Directors at Cedars Bank until it was sold in January of 2006.  He is the recipient of several Diplomas from the American Institute of Banking and is a graduate from Southwestern Methodist University Graduate School of Banking.

He and his wife Pricilla reside at Turnberry Place in Las Vegas, Nevada and maintain homes in Long Beach and La Habra Heights, California.  Both maintain a high profile of community service as supporters of The Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital, a non-profit Hospital serving the community with mobile clinics (Care Force One), The Hope For A Cure Diabetic Foundation, The Whittier Child Guidance Center and The PADRA Foundation for Diabetic Research at CHOC Hospital in Orange.

Their International support extends to St. George Hospital and Balamand University in Lebanon.  Also, in Syria Mr. Koury serves as Chairman of the Board of the Hosn Hospital and is one of the founders of the Wadi University which conducts all courses in the English language.  

He also served as Chairman of The Long Beach Project Area Committee for Redevelopment of downtown Long Beach, Chairman of (DLBA) Downtown Long Beach Business Associate, and Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and served on the Original Long Beach Grand Prix Committee.  He is a member at the St. Michael Church and a lifetime member of the Order of Saint Ignatius.
