The House of Lebanon is hosted on Sunday, January 19, 2020 the Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies roaming exhibit “The Lebanese in America.”
Attending the January 19 opening of the exhibit was the founder of the Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies at North Carolina State University, Dr. Moise Khayrallah, who was given The House of Lebanon Medal of Honor by the Chairmen of the House of Lebanon, Dr. Paul Wakim and Dr. Mike Ahmar and House of Lebanon President Joseph Karaki.
Also the Director of the Khayrallah Center for Lebanese Diaspora Studies and Khayrallah Distinguished Professor of Lebanese Diaspora Studies Dr. Akram Khater gave a lecture entitled entitled “History of the Lebanese in America” in which he surveyed the history of the early Lebanese immigrants, the challenges they faced, and the current state of preserving the oral and photographic history and culture of the Lebanese diaspora in America.
The exhibit was cosponsored by the following organizations: The Los Angeles Beirut Sister Cities, The World Lebanese Cultural Union, The California Lebanese Ladies Organization, and Los Angeles Cedars Rotary Club.
